Review

The review activities cover the landscape of ethics and legal infrastructure within countries in SSA. Data will be collected qualitatively through Key Informant Interviews (KII) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Consequently, we will conduct thirty (30) KIIs and ten (10) FGDs with selected National Research Authorities and National Ethics Committees in sub-Saharan Africa. The purpose of the KIIs and FGDs is to solicit information on participant experiences, needs, and gaps in the existing processes of selected NECs and NRAs or lack thereof. The Work Package will also involve a narrative literature review on ethics and regulatory aspects of digital health applications and devices in SSA.
