Internal meeting of STRATEGIC (Sustainable eThics Reviews of digital heAlth Technology dEsiGn In sub saharan afriCa)

An international seminar of the STRATEGIC project (Sustainable eThics Reviews of digital heAlth Technology dEsiGn In sub saharan afriCa) will be held on Thursday, 6 March 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am CET, at LUMSA University, Sala del Consiglio, Via Pompeo Magno 28, Rome.
This project receives funding within the EDCTP3 programme supported by the Horizon Europe Framework.
On this occasion, after opening remarks by Laura Palazzani (Full Professor of Philosophy of law and coordinator of LUMSA research unit in STRATEGIC), LUMSA will host a lecture by Jacques Simpore (Full Professor of Molecular Biology and Molecular Genetics, Université Joseph KI-ZERBO, Burkina Faso, and Member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Vatican) on the topic of “The ethical challenges of digital health technologies for clinical research in sub-Saharan Africa”.
A dialogue will follow with STRATEGIC consortium members participating as discussants: Dirk Lanzerath (Full Professor of Philosophy and Head of the German Reference Centre for Ethics in the Life Sciences (DRZE), University of Bonn; STRATEGIC Coordinator), Bernd Stahl (Full Professor of Critical Research in Technology, University of Nottingham; Responsible for STRATEGIC Project Management) and Loredana Persampieri (Research Fellow in Philosophy of Law and member of LUMSA research unit in STRATEGIC).
