STRATEGIC Project Webinar: Challenges and Opportunities for Strengthening Ethics and Regulatory Capacity for Digital Health Technologies

The STRATEGIC Project invites researchers, policymakers, regulators, ethics experts, health professionals, and other stakeholders to join an upcoming webinar on the challenges and opportunities for strengthening ethics and regulatory capacity for digital health technologies.

The webinar will bring together Horizon Europe and Global Health EDCTP-funded projects working on complementary areas, including research ethics review reform, health data governance, digital clinical trial oversight, Research Ethics Committee (REC) accreditation, decolonised AI governance, and regulatory preparedness for emerging health technologies

The event will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore how lessons from research ethics review reforms and ethics and regulatory capacity-building initiatives in sub- Saharan Africa can contribute to strengthening the responsible governance of digital health technologies across the Global Majority. The webinar will create a space to share experiences, lessons and perspectives on: Research ethics review reform, Health data governance, Digital clinical trial oversight, Research Ethics Committee (REC) accreditation, Decolonised AI governance, and Regulatory preparedness for emerging health technologies.

The webinar will foster dialogue across projects and disciplines, highlighting opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and strengthening ethical and regulatory systems as digital health technologies continue to evolve.
