We are pleased to share a recent update on our dissemination activities, highlighting the ongoing collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the STRATEGIC consortium. On Friday, June 26th, 2026, our colleague Loredana Persampieri from LUMSA participated as a speaker at the International Summer School on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Ethics and Human Rights, directed by Laura Palazzani, Full Professor of Philosophy of Law and Coordinator of LUMSA research unit. This event, hosted by the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the LUMSA Human Academy, gathered experts and participants to explore the complex intersection of emerging technologies and fundamental human rights.
During her lecture, titled "AI and the protection of human rights; discussion of the case in Africa, use of AI and digital technologies in the medical field," Loredana provided a comprehensive overview of the ethical challenges and opportunities presented by AI integration in sectors like healthcare relating to the protection of human rights and the dignity framework of the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. In the second part of her presentation, she introduced the STRATEGIC project to the audience, focusing specifically on our 5C framework. This was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how our work contributes to current international dialogues on responsible AI development and implementation.
