Our colleague Mathieu Rochambeau (EUREC) recently represented the STRATEGIC project at the prestigious Inari Symposium on Research Ethics in Nature, Environment and Indigenous Research (InRENEI2026), held from June 10-11th in Inari, Finland.
The conference provided an excellent platform for Mathieu to host a poster presentation showcasing the STRATEGIC Inclusive 5C Framework for Responsible Innovation. It also offered a valuable opportunity to network and exchange insights with international colleagues dedicated to advancing ethical standards in environmental and indigenous research.
A major highlight of the event was the official publication of two landmark guidelines by the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity (TENK), the symposium's main organizer. These include new recommendations on AI in research as well as comprehensive ethical principles for research involving nature and the environment (see more). These publications mark a significant step forward for the global research ethics community.
